“The Square Earth” is a research project started by Stefan Nikolovski. In his life he wears many hats, but for this project he acts as an independent researcher and writer. “The Square Earth” should culminate with a book by the same title and will hopefully tell an engaging story about geometry’s origins in the human mind and in history. The author is particularly interested in our human propensity to think in straight lines and build in right angles.

This site features data, insights and thoughts that comes out of his research and serves as the project’s public library. It is also the author’s hope that some of the content here will help current and future researches in forming a wider scientific and philosophical consensus about the origins of geometric ideation and thought.

This research area is multidisciplinary and touches many fields such as: cognitive archaeology, anthropology, ethology, neuroscience, phenomenology, epistemology, history of mathematics, architecture and urban planning, cultural history, semiotics and most broadly biology and physics.
